Semester two: Week one round up

Updated: Jan 23, 2023

Andddd we're back!

Semester two started off with a high, mainly because I was in a plane flying away from it.

That's a story for another post though so let's skip to Thursday.

Yes - we are starting a week roundup on the second last day of the working week - give me a break I'm only just getting used to this.

Anyway, Thursday - day one of my semester, of course I'm greeted with a 9am. Political thinkers this semester is my only 9am, from this first lecture however I dont think I'll mind too much, while being confusing and extremely humbling I enjoyed it and look forward to what the course offers (I'm sure I'll regret saying this in a few weeks). For once i even took detailed notes!! All about socrates and inner questioning for the greater good, It was interesting stuff.

Bit of a tangent here but I've started to get why people enjoy getting up super early and doing something that tests themselves, it really does make you feel supercharged once you've done that 9am, or gone to the gym, even just getting up and going for a walk feels great so hopefully I can keep this up for the rest of the semester because one of the worst parts of the last one way feeling groggy and unmotivated all the time, especially in the mornings.

Anyway, back to uni! The 9am was followed by a genuine library sesh, unbelievable I know! Reading plato as well! Who would've though I would be reading Plato! God I really am a stereotypical politics student...

Let's try keep this one short - onto Friday. Started with a tutorial... god i forgot how much I hate tutorials. They're awkward, humbling and i always feel like I understand a topic less than I did before. All of this was true once again. I didn't even understand the questions we were asked! Please, if anyone reading this understands what an interlocutory intervention is in politics please tell me, please, I'm actually going insane what does interlocutory even mean.

Anyway... apart from the tutorial It was a decent academic day, a lecture was attended later in the day with some average at best note taking and understanding taking place, but hey, it's better than nothing.

I'm trying to keep this post brief here so I won't say much more but i had my usual closing shift at maccies and that was fine? I guess? As i told my flatmate, I gotta pay for my guiness somehow... and rent, but more importantly guiness.

Anyway, I'll leave it at that, as you can probably tell I'm trying to experiment with how i format and style these posts, I'm not sure if i want it to be serious and well structured blog or a more lighthearted and conversational one yet. This style has certaintly been easier to write as I've barely thought about the words I've been using but it doesn't feel as enjoyable and fulfilling as there isn't any real form of challenge in it, but hey maybe quantity is what i need to make it fulfilling, who knows,

Anyway, that's the end of this, I hope you've enjoyed some of these random blog posts, if you have then please share it with some of your friends, and if you'd like to stay up to date then subscribe to my newsletter on the contact page of the website!
